When I’m 64?
That would be the number of the day for Stevie Wonder, born May 13th, 1950, in Saginaw Michigan.

The Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab
The Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab was a toy produced between 1950 and 1951. The toy allowed the user to conduct simple experiments with radioactive materials. Kit included;
- A Geiger counter
- An electroscope
- A Wilson cloud chamber
- A spinthariscope
- Four samples of uranium ore
- Pb-210 lead isotope
- various other accessories
After only a year of production, the toy was pulled from the market for obvious reasons.
(I wonder if there was a restriction on countries to which this could be exported?)
Happy Record Store Day, 2014 - Part 2!!
And here’s the even longer line at M-Theory Music, where I waited in line for three and a half anxious hours hoping that those in front of me (I was positioned 15 or 20 people back from the front of the store) would not snap up all the rare releases I was most coveting. Luckily, the vinyl gods were smiling brightly and I was very successful with this morning’s quest for cool new music!
Get out to your favorite local independent record store today (or any day, for that matter) any pick up buy records!!
Happy Record Store Day, 2014!!!
It’s the happiest day of the year so get out there and buy some vinyl at your favorite independent record store!
I shot this video this morning while waiting in line at Record City in San Diego, CA. Record City was my second stop of the day (as they open an hour after M-Theory Music), so my spot was juuuuuuust a hike from the front door. Still, I snagged three new pieces of vinyl that had not been available at M-Theory).

"Marriage Type Love" — 1958 on RCA Victor, part of the Living Stereo series of much sought after vintage vinyl!
I’d completely forgotten about this product until I saw a vintage print ad posted to Facebook.
Don’t forget, it’s a “space age design with fingertip control”!
This photo of Joan Crawford sitting on a plastic covered couch in her Hollywood apartment is amazing in ways I can’t possibly convey! But I’ll try…
Yes, there’s an Oscar on the table next to… a bottle of Pepsi? Plus some other libation. The payoff, though, is the original Margaret Keane portrait hanging on the wall behind Joan. Apparently, Tim Burton has a Margaret Keane biopic in the works titled “Big Eyes” and THAT may be amazing!
