April 3, 1948: The country radio show Louisiana Hayride is first broadcast from the Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. It launched the career of Elvis Presley and gave Hank Williams his first wide radio audience.

November 15, 1956: Elvis Presley makes his cinematic debut in Love Me Tender as the younger brother of a Confederate soldier following the Civil War.

June 27, 1968: Elvis Presley began taping his “Comeback Special”. Commonly referred to as the “‘68 Comeback Special” because it revived Elvis’s career, the soundtrack was released as NBC-TV Special, which became his 34th album.
