Bob Hope (May 29, 1903 - July 27, 2003) died nine years ago today at the age of 100. His career spanned the entire range of the 20th century, from vaudeville to the movies. Starting with World War II, Hope began entertaining military troops around the world which he continued doing during both wartime and times of peace. Congress passed a resolution in 1997 making him an honorary veteran.
